He who began a good work in you will perfect it
Back in October 2010 we did an outreach at the Haumoana Market day which was an awesome event. The day before this
event I went into Hastings with James Bedingfield & Caroline Read, Michael & Hazel Balfour and a few
others.
They were doing their regular outreach at the Hastings flea market. They call it Life books where they give out
Christian literature and use the Flipchart to share the gospel. It was so windy that day everything kept getting
blown away so James and I decided to go into Hastings CBD and find a place sheltered from the wind.
We got to witness to several people that morning including three teenagers, two girls and a boy who were running
around with colour spray foam squirting each other and having a great time. I asked them if they would like to do
the good person test and they said yes.
It turned out one of the girls was already saved and the other wasn’t sure, but the boy went through the whole
presentation with an attitude but I felt he was listening. I knew God was speaking to them and I also knew they
heard His voice so I asked them if they understand what they must do (repent and believe) to be saved (and they
did), when are you going to do it.
The two that weren’t saved said they would have to think about it some more and so I reminded them (among other
things) that there was no guarantee of a tomorrow so please make sure you do it before you go to sleep tonight, and
sent them on their way. I gave them a tract and my business card which I only give out when I’m sure the person has
heard from God, and they went on their way.
After the Haumoana outreach the next day I got a txt from the young man thanking me for helping him. Praise the
Lord! I didn’t know who it was to start with so I txt back asking who he was. He txt back, “I’m the guy with the
two girls with the colour spray giving you the evils yesterday. Thank you for helping me”. We exchanged a few more
txts and I encouraged him to keep in contact.
Along comes Christmas and I get another txt from him thanking me again for helping him to find God and wishing me a
Merry Christmas. He told me he was now attending a Church in Napier and a Youth Group in Hastings and couldn’t
thank me enough for leading him to Jesus. I was at an OAC Beach Mission in Gisborne at the time and suggested we
catch up for a coffee as soon as I got back to Napier after the New Year.
On Saturday we got together for a coffee in Taradale and he thanked me again and told me his testimony. He is not
from a Christian background and his dad who he lives with is very anti-God and his mum is quite screwed up. However
he is really communicating with the Lord every day and reading his Bible and praying.
He read (I think it was this scripture)
1 Chronicles 23:30.
They are to stand every
morning
to thank and to praise the LORD, and likewise at
evening… So now he reads and prays at least twice a day.
He has been attending Napier Christian fellowship on Sundays as he lives in that area and goes to the Outreach
Centre Youth Group in Hastings.
I hope to post his testimony sometime soon.
Praise the Lord,
Philippians 1:6.
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ
Jesus.
God is faithful that promised!
Kevin.

This is a brief account of our recent trip to Vanuatu in late July to
August.
There is so much I could share, so many amazing stories of Gods faithfulness. On reflection
we landed in what I can only describe as a revival. The hunger of the people for the things of God was
overwhelming.
In six days of street preaching using the flip chart we saw 200 Salivation's with many
visibly affected some with tears of repentance. As well as the salvation's we were praying for the sick seeing some
remarkable healing and Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
One of the most remarkable experiences was going to the hospital and praying for everyone in
towards, the presence of the Holy Spirit was very strong, the patients and their families were very touched to
think that a couple of white guys from NZ would come and pray for them.
Many Christians will ask now what are you going to do with them, and that is a fear enough
question. All I can say is that we went because we truly believed the Lord was calling us there and this was
confirmed by the miracles we saw. I learnt a lot there, made mistakes and God willing I hope to return again next
year and do things better so that the fruit will remain. We also left the beginnings of a small
church.
God bless you and your ministry the flip chart was a great tool.
Yours in Christ

Church on the Street in Hamilton!
Greetings one & all,
We’ve had many street outreach's around the country this month but the one that stands out for me
was at Garden Place in Hamilton with Matt Olds team from Auckland. (Kiwi Tracts…)
On this
occasion I got to talk with a number of people who were already Christians, some of whom had been struggling in
their walk with the Lord. The Lord led me to talk to them about having answered Jesus call for salvation, He was
now calling them to become a disciple, and how they needed to hear His voice and answer His call. Three Korean
Christians were so excited about what they heard that they spent the afternoon giving out our tracts and
witnessing for Christ.
I also got to share with three young men, two of whom had already been saved for some time but had
just come out of a time of spiritual struggle. The other one was an Anglican pastor’s son and had only
recently been born again. I shared with them about hearing Jesus’ call to become disciples and the need for
them to hear His voice and obey what they hear. Kevin Philips and I then laid hands on them and prayed for
fire of the Holy Spirit to fall on them….
Angela
Walters had been sharing with some girls who were really listening to the gospel message and being convicted by
the Holy Spirit. She had just asked them if they were ready to repent of their sin and put their trust in the
Saviour for their salvation. All of a sudden they saw one of the young men fall on his face under the anointing
of the Holy Spirit. Glory to God! One of the
girls then knelt on the ground and repented of her sin and put her trust in Jesus to save her. Praise the Lord!
The young man had some deliverance and curses broken, then lay there for about 10 minutes or so
totally relaxed as the Holy Spirit ministered to him. People were looking on as they went past and must have
been wondering why we were seemingly standing around doing nothing to help him. I’m a bit surprised no one
called 111.
Praise God and glory to His name!

Hi Kevin,
How I got involved with flip charting?
No way was I able to do THAT!!!!
Helma had spoken to me several times about having a go & I had all the answers.
"Not educated enough." "Have not been a Christian long enough" "Don't know the Bible enough" etc. etc.
etc.
Told her Sylvia and I would go to the A&P Show for half a day and make teas and do BBQ.
That became a full day with me doing nothing much to help in the tent, but I did try my hand a
charting.
The rest is
history. Oh, and by the way, have been a Christian for only 12 years, and my 76 birthday was
on Show Day.
[they put a special day on for my b'day each year] so it is never too late to start.
I’m looking forward to this coming Show [15 & 16 Oct] and my 77th.
Am out each Saturday, and to date have now brought 21 souls to Jesus. PTL.
Had a miraculous healing at our local House of Prayer, from a crook back that has nearly crippled me for
almost
40 years. Have a small lawn mowing business, and after a full day’s work I would come home, bent over like a
staple.
At the HOP that night, my back was very troublesome, and I asked for prayer.
Peter, [our leader] and Kevin, anointed me with oil, laid hands on me, and they and 16 others that were present,
prayed
for me for deliverance, and I was healed almost instantly, and have had no more pain.
What a mighty God we serve. Amen!!
That is one of my testimonies of what Jesus has done in my life. Have others that I could tell. Maybe another
time.
God bless you Kevin.

Hi Kevin,
I have been out each Saturday for the last four months, and have brought 14 to The
LORD.
Last Saturday three of us witnessed in Treble Court, Gisborne… What a day that
was.
The first lady I spoke to, {within about five minutes of setting up}, had two school aged
sons, and was mourning the cot death of her daughter.
I shared the gospel with her, and we had an awesome time together. She was saved, and left me
rejoicing, instead of being down hearted.
Encouraged her to go back to attending church, {House of Breakthrough} and also invited her
to visit our church which is just down the road.
The week before had brought three girls to Our LORD. They were from up the coast, and come
down for netball each week end.
Two of them were there, and we had a great chat, before McDonald’s burgers and drinks called
them.
Two ladies were watching from McD's, and they came out, with their children to see what I was
doing.
Took them through the flip chart, but the kids were not ready to make a commitment just
yet.
The mothers told me they were both 'born again', and also down from Ruatoria for netball.
Told us {Helma, Nigel and I} that they think the charts were the best tools that they have seen, and that they
witness on the streets at home, each week.
We suggested that they might like to flip chart up there. Time will tell, the seed has been
sown.
There were others, but those were the memorable ones. Altogether it was a rewarding
time.
Keep up the good work Kevin. We miss you, and pray for you and your teams always. H O P still
very active.
By the way, my back still in tip top condition. Isn't GOD good?!!!!!!
GOD'S Blessings to you all,

Hi there,
I am very new at witnessing using flip-charts. I often struggle with the fear of man and
feelings of inadequacy.
Last Friday night, I received a text from one of the evangelism team to ask me if I would go
to Tokoroa on the Saturday. As I have two sisters and a niece who live in Tokoroa and nephews that often pass
through Tokoroa, I felt very fearful. I was also extremely tired after a very busy week at
work.
However, after praying with a friend to see if this was God's
will for me and being prostrate before God, I felt it was His will for me to go. I arrived about 12 pm and after I
witnessed to just a few people, I was disappointed that I hadn't achieved much and some of the evangelists were
packing up and going home. However, I turned to my flip-chart and a girl aged about 16 or 17, asked me if her and
several others could do the "good person test". I went through the test with them, going through the Law. At all
times, I confessed my own sin, that I was guilty as well of breaking God's commandments. On coming to the judgement
of God, all of the girls declared that
before a Holy God, they were all guilty of sin and by their own admission said that they would be destined to Hell
if they died.
I explained the word "Hell" with the word "help". H is that there is no hope in Hell, e it is
for ever, l there is no love in Hell and p is for pain and torment for ever. They seemed really concerned
about this. Then I tried to share the Good News of the Gospel, but some were distracted. I felt that the Holy
Spirit was grieved at this point and told them that God did not like to be mocked. They really listened to me
from then on and many had tears in their eyes. I stressed repentance and putting their trust in Jesus Christ
as their Lord and Saviour. They all desired to do this and humbly knelt on the footpath in the main street,
and with the help of Kevin and Ewan, repented of their sins and trusted in Christ. I was very excited at this
point!
I turned around and a boy of the same age asked if he could do the test. There were 7 other
boys listening as well. I went through the Law and once again confessed that I was guilty of breaking the ten
commandments as well. Because of my honesty in confessing my sin, I felt the boys responded and all sat down
on the footpath, asking me lots of questions. They also confessed that they would be guilty of sin and by
their own admission as well, said that they would too be destined for Hell.
I
stressed the Gospel and what Jesus had done on the Cross, so that they didn't have to go to Hell. Kevin also shared
with the boys about the Cross. As with the girls, there were many tears in their eyes. We asked them if they would
repent and trust in Christ. They all replied positively. They too, also knelt on the footpath, repented of their
sin and put their trust in Christ as their Lord and Saviour. We shared with them that they needed discipleship, to
go to a Bible
believing Church and to read The Word
daily.
After this, I told Ewan that I found it hard to hand out tracts unless I had witnessed to the
people concerned. He then went up to 3 girls and gave them each a tract. He then witnessed to them and they
also knelt on the footpath and accepted Christ.
In all 19 young people accepted Christ that afternoon. I am so grateful that I responded to
God's direction that day and I give all the praise and glory to God. It was a real privileged to work with
Kevin and Ewan as a team to bring these precious young people to faith in Christ Jesus. Please pray for
them.

Hi there,
I went out with Kevin on a Friday afternoon in the main street of
Te Puke. Kevin and the team have been running the Way of the Master at our church, so decided it was time to
take courage in my hands and give it a go. I don't have a problem talking to strangers, but introducing the
topic of the gospel has not always been as easy as it probably should have been, so having the Flipchart is
great.
I let Kevin do all the talking this time around so I could learn
the ropes. Kevin took 8 people through it altogether, and it was an awesome privilege to be involved in
leading two beautiful teenage girls to the Lord.
They happily knelt right there in the street and got up with
beaming, joyful faces, and were pretty amazed at the way they were feeling. What made this special also, was
one of these girls God had laid on my heart to pray for a couple of years ago when I was working at the local
high school where she is a student. God is so gracious and faithful.
They went away feeling very excited after asking if they could
give us hugs, and thanking us over and over for sharing the gospel with them.

Hello Kevin,
I have been encouraged to read of the ministry going on in NZ from your Newsletters. I would
have to say I am amazed with those sort of results. The number of converts you are witnessing is a real
blessing and will bring glory to the Lord. You must have a fair team working over there. I would like to
share what I have been doing in the past month or so – not so much a testimony I suppose but just sharing
what is happening.
I started using the Flipchart last month at the Roke by a locality just North of Warragul in
Gippsland in Victoria. I expect you know David Knight who lives in Warragul and I have worked with him
recently at shows etc. I have set up a stall last month and just yesterday where I have a table with tracts,
booklets and the Flipchart. The Market has craft and produce and is one of the larger ones in this area. I
intend to go to Drouin in June which is a smaller market.
The Flipchart is a great tool and is fantastic for one to one interaction in sharing the
gospel. The first time last month the highlight was sharing the complete gospel message with a young lady who
was very receptive and a number of others as well. Yesterday I shared the Law with a number of young people
but didn’t get any further as they were pressed for time and had to move on (maybe lack of interest in some
cases). Nevertheless the seed is planted. I find the young people are far more receptive to even start the
presentation, but the older people are very closed to anything ‘spiritual’. They are blinded to the
Gospel.
This is all a pretty new venture and I am looking to have a small team with younger assistants
for the stalls in the future. Will also be looking for other opportunities for the Flipchart approach down
the track.
God Bless You

Hi
there,
Since
the v8’s we have personally been under huge spiritual attack personally in such a way to prevent us going out on
the street for two weekends... It is good to remember we are in a battle and the enemy takes notice! The flip
chart ministry is really becoming effective at waking up the sleepy NZ church .We need to be praying for God’s
protection before we go out on the streets.
Seven
people from our church out came out flip charting for the V8 races here in Hamilton recently, four of these for
the first time. I arranged for a video to be made of our church folk in action on the streets.
This
video and the personal testimony subsequently shared by each person in our church (Horsham Downs Community
Church Hamilton) service were very powerful. The newcomers shared how non confrontational the charts were and
although they went out initially to observe they ended up having a go! They spoke of how people came up to the
charts and how the charts provided an easy outline to follow, they talked about how much more confident they
have become since learning to share the gospel, and shared stories of their personal spiritual conversations
with individuals.
Finally
they reckoned everyone should have a go! One girl was very shy and had written notes which she read from (God
uses the least confident to challenge the more confident!) Afterward we were approached by another church member
interested in coming out regularly.
Pray,
pray, pray for more laborers and for protection for those who go out and their families.

Hi Kevin,
Yes, I can tell you of the Te Puke A&P Show in early
March.
I was talking to a young man leading him through the flip chart and
usually when I get to the courtroom part most people decide they’ve had enough and go. However this guy
stayed and I went onto the part of Jesus paying for our sins. He was still with me. It is very tempting to
sidestep at this stage but something within me said “close the sale now”. So I asked him to take the step of
committing his life to the LORD... and he did (to my surprise).
I gave him a Bible and got his name and let the local church people at the
outreach know.
I haven’t been able to do any since due to work commitments but I’ll be
back possibly during school holidays when work is less.

Hi Kevin, Here are two encounters.
While at Rotorua A/P show I spoke to a Argentinean girl. She was
born into a Atheist family who never believed in God and never wanted to. It was too difficult to take her
through the flip chart as her English was very basic. So I just explained who Jesus is and told her a few of
the commandments.
After this she asked how I can know about Jesus I have no Book to
read. I gave her a N/T bible she was so overwhelmed with tears in her eyes she threw her arms around me
saying thank you thank you several times and walked off smiling broadly. I pray she finds Christ
soon.
The other one was in Tauranga where I spend about 2 hours in red
square every Sunday. Over all the time spent is well rewarding, meeting people from all around the world. I
get no trouble or abuse [praise God]. I took two German guys through the chart, after I had finished they
said, it is amazing since being in NZ they have had 3 encounters with Christians, 1st in Christchurch square
2nd when they called into a farm house on the way up the South Is looking for work. The farmer asked them did
they know Jesus. And now you are speaking to us.
They admitted Jesus was on their case but at this stage needed to
know a lot more about him but would probably surrender sooner than later. There are lots more stories to
tell, some sad, some amazing as to what people get up to and how much they tell you about their private
lives, but this the joy of being on the street.
Cheers

Good news from Ron in
Turangi. What IS the name of that boy who prayed with us on
Saturday. Have you talked with him
again? Next time, before I get a
person to pray I will ask for their phone number email etc and 'ASK
have they got a Church or Home
Group to go to', and 'do they
have a Christian friend to help
them'.
I meet people in
Turangi yesterday that have heard the gospel at a Flipchart
Outreach were 4 people got saved.
Two are going to church and they
asked me about getting a Flipchart for themselves.
They go to a church on
Sundays. I had a great time of sharing there
