God honors' His Word - Healed in Jesus Name One Friday Evening in 2007 To God be the glory for all He has done and is doing in my life as He has continues preparing me for the Bus Mission Outreach.

And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.] [ And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.]
Mark 16:19-20

In mid 2007 a few months after my wife had gone to be with the Lord. I had the privilege of sharing the gospel with a man whom I'll call John for privacy sake. Now John has been classified by the NZ Police as NZ’s most violent man, and his wife and children had been alertedly taken to Australia for their own protection.

I had known 'John' before I became a Christian in 1986 and hung out in the drug seen with him for several years.

He invited me to come & share the gospel with him in his home. I arrived at about 5.30pm on a Friday night and was there till around 11.30pm.

He made it clear to me that while he believed in God he didn’t believe anything to do with Jesus and would get quite irritated at the mention of His name.

As I was sharing with him he smoked a joint and downed a few bottles of bourbon, which was interesting to say the least, however we had an excellent time as I shared the gospel and got to know him a little better.

As I was finishing sharing the gospel with him at around 10.30pm, John asked me if I would pray for him, of course you don’t have to ask me twice so I walked over to him. As I approached him he went down on his knees, at which point I told him that wasn’t necessary, but he never replied.

I asked God to show me how I should pray, and then began to speak in tongues. As I prayed what God put on my heart I felt the anointing of God, and my left hand which I was holding above his head but not touching him, began to feel warm & tingly as some deliverance began happening.

When I’d finished praying I could see he was visibly moved as he fought to control his tears, God had obviously touched his heart. Praise His name !

As I was leaving in my car he came out and asked me about the language I was using and what did I say. After I explained what tongues were about he said nothing and walked off in deep thought.

The Following Day

Now this is where it gets interesting. The next morning at about 10.30am, John turned up at my parent’s place where I was staying in my bus. He proceeded to tell me that he had slept soundly all night and this was the first time since 1982 that he had slept for more than 2 hours, and even then only very lightly because of the pain he was in. He had a serious accident that resulted in chronic pain which has robed him of sleep for all these years.

God had healed his leg, which he had severely broken in at least five places and is held together by several plates & screws, (the doctors wanted to amputate it). God also healed his shattered knee which because of the plates wouldn’t allow his knee to bend, and his hips which had screws in them. He even gave me an x-ray because he could hardly believe it himself and thought no one would believe me either without proof.

What is really awesome is that he said he didn’t mean to get on his knees; something made him kneel, because he hadn’t been able to kneel since 1986. He also said that as I prayed he felt several things leave his body, needless to say he was gob-smacked.

Sunday

John was so excited that he asked me to pick him up on Sunday and take him to church. This is a miracle in itself. On the way there he asked me to show the x-ray and share this miracle with everyone. How awesome is our God!

On the way home I took the opportunity to remind him that even though he has some major issues with Jesus being God, Jesus healed him anyway, just to demonstrate His unconditional love and unmerited favor. How cool is that!!!

Although John hasn’t been born again yet, he is very close and really wants a new life. Please pray for his salvation as Nigel and I will be ministering to him and some of his friends.

God Honors His Word

Isn’t it amazing! God uses ordinary people like me to demonstrate to the unsaved that He is real. All we have to do is preach the gospel, and lay hands on the sick and they will recover - it’s that simple.

I received a call from 'John' the other day. He wanted me to know he was a man of his word and went to Wainui Beach Community Church on the last Sunday of 2007 as he promised he would. He said he would continue to go because it gave him such a lift and made him feel like he'd taken a shot of speed. 'Praise the Lord'

He is still not save yet so please pray for him.
