Personal Testimony
by Nigel Baker
Nigel Baker I became a believer in Christ in 1974. The Lord started to draw me to himself through 4 words written in an old book on Transcendental Meditation, they were ‘Eternal Life’ and ‘God Consciousness’

As I reread those four amazing words I thought…  ‘Wow!! That’s what I want’. If God can speak to me from an eastern religious booklet then he can do anything even if he has to use a dumb donkey. Amen

The Lord led me to a fellowship where I received Christ and remained for about 28years.

I was involved in Sunday school teaching, cadet training; youth group leadership, evangelism, music ministry and stewardship. In that time I was privileged to here foundational truths that have kept me in good stead right up until the present day.

This is probably why I have a strong desire in seeking the truth of the word of God because I have seen its holding power in my life when the going got really tough.

I am married with 4 children and 5 grand children, all of which are in Australia except our youngest daughter. I have been involved in the IT industry for over 15yrs and now run a small IT business from home.

I am currently involved in house group fellowship, lay preaching, evangelism, mission and music ministry. I have a desire to see believers come to know their identity and their abilities in Christ, which is essential for a balanced Christian walk.

Our purpose here on earth is to be set apart for the masters use in conduct and heart and because this is a ‘work in progress’ we are not to wait until we are perfect to share the gospel with a world that is going to hell.

There are many forms of evangelism but all have the same result ‘SALVATION” for the sinner. Whether you are fishing in the creek or in the deep blue sea the whole purpose of the fisherman is to catch FISH.

Let’s continue to FISH so they can be caught by SALVATION.

How shall they hear without a preacher (ambassador, fisherman, witness, friend, workmate, relation, spouse) - Amen.

Your brother in Christ,

Nigel Baker.
